Halloween!

We had a busy weekend of Halloween Festivities this year! Saturday morning we started out at the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins for carving. We went to a costume party at Old Navy and the boys got free T-shirts for dressing up and also a bunch of $1 Halloween shirts to wear this week. We ended up at Boo at the Zoo in Birmingham. The boys both really liked the Planet of the Apes Haunted House, but the candy, rides, animals & shows were a hit too!

Sunday we carved our pumpkins, stuffed ghosts to hang in the trees & decorated the yard with a big bale of hay we spray painted like a huge pumpkin & put some purple mums out. We spent the afternoon at Grace Baptist Church's Halloween festival. We ended the weekend lighting our pumpkins up & making caramel apples & pears! YUMMY!

Jack had to have a costume too - but he wasn't so happy about his!

Hanging the stuffed ghosts - you have to get really high in the tree to get the good limbs.

The chickens ate Austin's pumpkins teeth while we were at the Church carnival - oops!
Who would have known?!?!

Blake Baseball!

Finally I was able to get some pics of Blake at a game that wasn't rained out or after dark.
There are only a few games left this season...
both boys have really enjoyed playing and hated that so many games were rained out!

The more things change...

the more they stay the same!
My dear friend Cindy decided at the last minute to fly out for a long weekend visit this weekend...I mean it was Cinco de Mayo, right?!?! Who better to share some margarita's with than an 'ole friend! We did our usual - and threw in a few twists, her ankle the last night she was here! Here is a video that I made with our weekend pics - from the first night of shooting the BB guns (until finally one shot actually took out the birdfeeder), pedicures all around, Blake on the dunebuggy with his friend, a trip to Atlanta for a Braves game, a visit to Talladega Superspeedway & the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, the attack of the killer turtle and last but not least a backyard BBQ of burgers & roasted marshmellows.
good times.
enjoy the video...
